Affiliate Disclosure

Some outbound product or service links may use an affiliate relationship. When they do, Make Your Own Tools may receive a commission after a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to the buyer.

When a shopping link includes an affiliate relationship, that relationship is disclosed on the relevant page. Planning guidance remains independent of link destination.

How Recommendations Are Chosen

A commercial link must follow a result or an explicit compatibility requirement, such as battery voltage and capacity, NAS bay count, print-material preparation, or a deployment host specification.

Editorial Independence

Planning formulas, comparison criteria, and source selection are not changed by the availability or size of a commission.

Recommendation standard

Links are selected at the specification or category level. The surrounding page should explain what must match, which tradeoffs remain, and what current manufacturer or provider information to confirm.

Clear Labeling

Affiliate relationships are labeled near the relevant outbound path. Ordinary source links, documentation links, and non-affiliate destinations are not presented as endorsements.

User Responsibility

Use calculator outputs and product ranges as a specification checklist. Before buying or installing hardware, confirm voltage, current, connector type, enclosure rating, thermal limits, compatibility, local electrical rules, warranty terms, and safety documentation.

Supporting the Site

Commissions and voluntary support help fund hosting, source monitoring, regression testing, and new planning tools while keeping the core planners available without a paywall.
